The LAU Health Foundation (LAUHF) is charged with securing funds, building relationships and creating outreach opportunities that will allow the University’s health sciences complex to grow in size and quality. As part of its mission, the Foundation acknowledges a special relationship with University Medical Center – Rizk Hospital, in that the Foundation is the only charitable organization through which UMC-RH can undertake fundraising in the United States. One of the Foundation’s fundamental goals is to play an integral role in the transformation of UMC-RH to an internationally accredited hospital with an unparalleled reputation for patient care in the Arab World.
In addition, the Foundation supports the University’s academic programs that comprise the LAU Health Sciences: The Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine; the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing; and the School of Pharmacy. These three schools share a passion for excellence in teaching, research and practice, and the LAU Health Foundation is committed to helping them secure the resources they need to achieve their goals.
The Foundation also supports the Social Medicine initiative that crosses all of the University’s health programs and places students, under faculty supervision, in community health service settings on a regular basis.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees that serves without compensation. Board members support the Foundation’s goals with their own resources and actively assist the Foundation leadership in securing financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations that share our vision for LAU’s leadership in health sciences education, medical research, and patient care.
